At 6:30 PM, on Wednesday, April 24, the Friends of the Colusa County Library will host David H. Dirks, a South-Central Valley author noted for his works “Particle Beam: (For Such A Time)(Big Joe Carson Series),” “The Art of Stretching,” “Red Skies (Aftermath),” “The Dutch Master,” and “The Sounds of Worship (the cult of sound).”

Dirks grew up in Delano, California, a small farming community. Having been influenced by his father, Dirks was introduced to electronics and chemistry, and learned to experiment with balloons and rockets.
He worked for two of the nation’s top-secret national labs, Lawrence Livermore National Lab and Sandia National Lab with inspiration that developed a trilogy that begins with the novel, “Particle Beam” (co-authored by Dennis Jones.
